1. Tasting Table - Tasting table is a FREE daily email to keep you up to date on local beer tastings and drink specials in your area.
Although not always free, this is a an excellent resource for up to date information on new bar openings and drink specials. I have learned of quite a few bars and happy hour specials that I otherwise would not have known existed with the help of these daily emails.
2. Myopenbar.com – Myopenbar.com is a mini blog that lists open bars and free drink events daily. Currently the only cities that are featured are New York and Chicago, so if you live in either of these two cities you can be informed of limited open bar events and free drink events as they occur.
3. Beer and Wine Focus groups - Did you know that you can actually get payed to drink beer? Yes, you can.
Here is how it works: You are directed to a local bar in your area and are met with a number of other beer tasters as you sample various beers and wines. During these tastings you offer your opinions and fill out a rating card about what you like or don’t like about each brand. You can get payed anywhere from $70 to $100 an hour just for drinking beer!
